For in-vitro laboratory research only

5-Amino 1MQ is listed here as a research material. It is not for human or veterinary consumption, and nothing on this page is medical advice or dosing guidance. PeptideCompare is paid by flat supplier fees — never by sales commission or referral — so a price ranks by its number, not by who pays. We do not sell, test or verify any product, and quality or CoA labels are suppliers’ own claims. Always check the final price, documentation and legality with the supplier yourself.

Research profile

About 5-Amino 1MQ in the lab

5-Amino-1MQ is not a peptide but a small quinolinium compound. It appears in preclinical work on nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), an enzyme that is highly expressed in adipose tissue. Most published data come from cultured fat cells and rodent models.

Proposed mechanism

Blocks NNMT, which normally methylates nicotinamide. Less NNMT activity is thought to preserve the cellular nicotinamide pool available for NAD+ salvage and to shift methyl-donor balance.

Structure note

Small molecule NNMT enzyme inhibitor.
